    Director, Radiation Protection Division: Rosa Sardella studied nuclear engineering at the University of Bologna, where she also obtained her doctorate in 1997 in the Department of Mechanical, Nuclear, Aviation and Metallurgical Engineering. Since July 2016, Rosa Sardella has been Director of the Radiation Protection Division, as part of the ENSI Board.

    ENSI has a new mission statement

    “We strengthen safety.” The Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate has developed a new mission statement under this motto. It was developed with the involvement of every employee and replaces the mission statement from the year 2009.

    Director, Nuclear Power Plants Division: Since January 2022, Annette Ramezanian has been a member of the ENSI Executive Board with responsibility for the Nuclear Power Plants Division. Annette Ramezanian studied physics at Université Grenoble Alpes, obtaining her doctorate in 1993.

    Former director, Waste Disposal Division: Michael Wieser graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Biel/Bienne in 1992 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He then embarked on an international assignment as a Commissioning Engineer and Project Manager with ABB Power Generation/ALSTOM, working in the field of thermal power plants and control systems.

    Pierre Steiner steps down from the ENSI Board

    Pierre Steiner will step down from the ENSI Board at the end of 2012 after five years of service. Mr Steiner, who is 69, cites his age as the main reason for his decision. The ENSI Board regrets his departure and wishes to thank Pierre Steiner for his work and his great dedication.

Before joining ENSI she held a number of different positions with the Swiss Insurance Association (SVV) where she was an Executive Board member and Director of the Finance, HR and Administration Department since 2011.
