If there is a release of radioactivity, ENSI has to assess the consequences and, if necessary, be able to recommend protective measures. With the aid of an atmospheric dispersion calculation, ENSI can predict in which direction a radioactive cloud will move after it escapes from a nuclear installation and which areas will be affected.
