ENSI is seeking a new Director for its Waste Management Division

The existing Director of the Waste Management Division, Michael Wieser, is leaving the Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI) in search of a new professional challenge. The ENSI Board has therefore appointed a selection committee to find his successor.

“Over the last three and a half years or so, Michael Wieser has shown great commitment to the ENSI. For that, we would like to thank him,” says Anne Eckhardt, Chairwoman of the ENSI Board. The vacancy will be advertised in the next few days. A selection committee including representatives from the ENSI Board and Executive Board will then propose a successor to the ENSI Board.

Until the successor takes up their post, Stefan Theis will act as Interim Director of the Waste Management Division. Stefan Theis is the division’s Deputy Director and Director of the Transports & Predisposal Section (BEAT).

Michael Wieser took up his post at the ENSI on 1 December 2012 and became Director of the Waste Management Division on 1 January 2013. The Division comprises the Transports & Predisposal, Geology, Disposal & Analyses and Decommissioning sections.
