Andreas Schefer is the new Chief of Staff at ENSI

The executive board of the Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI) has named Andreas Schefer as the new Chief of Staff. The 48 year old lawyer is taking over from Felix Altorfer, who at the start of 2017 became Director of the Waste Management Division.

“I am pleased that in Andreas Schefer we were able to find a competent new Chief of Staff ENSI”, ENSI Director General Hans Wanner stated. The Staff of the Directorate of ENSI is responsible for coordinating all operations within ENSI and as such acts as a point of contact for the Director General, the Executive Board, the ENSI Board and the various federal authorities. The division includes the Sections onLegal Affairs, International Affairs and Communication. The Chief of Staff is not a member of the Executive Board but attends all of its meetings.
