Monica Duca Widmer has been a member of the ENSI Board since the beginning of 2016. Originally from Ticino, she has a broad range of experience with managing companies and foundations. With Jürg Schmid’s retirement, the ENSI Board is losing one of its founding members. During his ten years as member and six-year tenure as Vice Chair, he focused, in particular, on issues of safety culture. He was, among other things, instrumental in initiating the “oversight culture” project. “His experience from the aviation industry  has played an important role for the ENSI Board,” said Anne Eckhardt.

Jürg Schmid represented the ENSI Board in the Technical Safety Forum TFS and the Steering Committee of the Nuclear Energy Agency NEA of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development OECD. “He put his heart and soul into his work, and he was also highly respected and liked by his colleagues on the ENSI Board,” said Anne Eckhardt.
