Switzerland has ratified the following international conventions in the areas of nuclear safety and security. ENSI represents Switzerland in these bodies:

• Convention on Nuclear Safety (CNS),
• Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management,
• Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM) and its Amendment
• Oslo-Paris Commission for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic (OSPAR).
