Michael Wieser

Michael Wieser graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Biel/Bienne in 1992 with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He then embarked on an international assignment as a Commissioning Engineer and Project Manager with ABB Power Generation/ALSTOM, working in the field of thermal power plants and control systems.

After studying economics at the University of Fribourg, from which he graduated as a business economist in 2000, he joined Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) as a financial specialist in the Corporate Financial Services unit.

Following his involvement in the public transport sector, he went on to build up Axpo Contracting AG, a company operating in the field of renewable energies and which he managed for three years.

From 1 January 2013 onwards, Michael Wieser is to head ENSI’s Waste Management Division, which comprises the Waste Treatment, Transport, Geology, Deep Geological Repository, Analysis and Decommissioning sections. Michael Wieser has left ENSI in 2016.
