Dr. Annette Ramezanian

Director, Nuclear Power Plants Division

Annette Ramezanian studied physics at Université Grenoble Alpes, obtaining her doctorate in 1993. She also received a doctorate from the University of Karlsruhe in 1994. In addition, she holds a degree in economics from Hagen Open University.

Before joining ENSI, she worked for several years as an adviser in reactor safety at the Ministry of the Environment in the state of Baden-Württemberg and as deputy head of advisers at the Department of Social Affairs in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Among other things, she carried out approval and supervisory procedures based on nuclear legislation.

Annette Ramezanian has been working at ENSI in various roles since 2008, and since 2020 has been the head of the Site Inspection Section. In her previous roles, she was a specialist and inspector in the areas of probabilistic safety analyses, incident impacts and emergency preparedness and, as project manager, carried out several periodic safety reviews. On top of this, Annette Ramezanian represents ENSI internationally, including as National Coordinator of the Incident Reporting System for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Since January 2022, Annette Ramezanian has been a member of the ENSI Executive Board with responsibility for the Nuclear Power Plants Division.
