ENSI is responsible for the safety assessment of the applications with the first step being to check the documents for completeness. During its review, ENSI will remain free from bias: the top priority in the site selection process is to protect people and the environment.
ENSI is to check the completeness of Nagra’s general licence documents
Berne, 19.11.2024 – Today, Nagra submitted its application for a general licence for a deep geological repository and an encapsulation plant to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). The deep geological repository is to be constructed in the site area North of Lägern, while the encapsulation plant is to be built on the site of the Central Interim Storage Facility for Radioactive Waste in Würenlingen.
